Perspectives! An interview with beloved Austin drag performer, Miss Kitty Litter ATX
Miss Kitty Litter ATX is a beloved drag performer here in Austin. She has helped raise money for deserving charities and continues to navigate the unfriendly Texas political landscape with optimism and charm. As a congregant of First UU Austin, we have had the pleasure of seeing Miss Kitty do what she does best over the years - bringing a smile to the faces of the young and old in our community. VIDEO BLOG, MARCH 25, 2023 Rev Erin Walter, First UU Austin's interim Minister for Joy and Justice,
wonderfully articulate
Thank you for the comment!
Love ya Mum!
Aww, and we love her too!
An Austin Icon and a drag legend who brings light to so many. Glad she found a place that was welcoming. More churches should be like this.
She is very dear to us - thank you for your kind words!
We love Miss Kitty Litter ATX
Indeed! What's not to love! Thanks for your comment!
I understand that the UUA just decided to side with antisemitism. Shame on you.
Mani and Ruth at home in Austin recovering from my (Mani) hip fracture.
Good mor ning, all.
Always great music. UU played Lou Reed the Sunday he died. Best to all.
❤❤❤.

Thank you for your message and your ministry, Rev. Chris. Your support is deeply felt, and I am so grateful for the ways this church and all the ministers and staff are showing up and caring for each other.
This is beautiful, Rev Chris. Thank you for your wholehearted real deal love and leadership.❤
Wonderful sermon. It really makes clear that grieving is a process that transforms us and requires us to adapt to our new reality.
Thank you so much, Rev. Chris! It is a joy to work with you and Rev. Jonalu and the whole church team and membership. <3 Have a great and safe trip!
Thank you for showing up!
Enjoyed this.
Hope you don't mind the completely random post, but I'm a content creator also. Just wanted to stop by and wish you much success on your channel.
Thank you for addressing this question. I would love to borrow a copy of the book.
This was so painful to listen to but I had to for a class...uuughh
I miss you Meg. Be it in Spartanburg, or up high The Mountain in Highlands.. just knowing you are always around just makes me a little more comfortable in the world, like 'Hey, it's gonna be ok, I got you.. Thank you. 🤟
This was so dope.
Some segments in the video are stamped not adjacent to each other
Great sermon on balance!
I love this fellow human being. A true pantheist and sheppard of nature. But the most human thing he said which resonates was'You don't do it alone'!
This was great.
I'm sorry, Meg, but I've got to disagree with you here. I know your heart's in the right place. But there are times when yelling is the only thing that gets attention. While violence rarely directly causes appropriate change, yelling and scolding (and yes, sometimes some violence) forces the issue into the public consciousness. Once there, it stews in the back of people's minds. When the issue comes up again, people remember just how many people hated that "issue" and can no longer pretend it is only a minor issue... a few bad apples. Then, they eventually come to accept that things have to change. People often claim that all change comes incrementally, as societal values change. But those societal values never change if the issue remains hidden to those who can make or force the change. You talk about white privilege a lot. Well, I think some of yours is showing now. In my life I have been bullied a lot. A LOT! And I have learned that the bullies never, ever stop until you stand up to them. In this case the whole system is the bully. And people have a right to stand up to that system. The rest of us have an obligation to stand up with them. To shout. To yell. To scold as harshly as we can. To make sure people realize that some things are simply unacceptable, not just inconvenient to a few.
Litter as an analogy brings out my wet blanket instincts. Obviously, I'm just going by historical accounts here, but some of the Keep America Beautiful add campaigns were in fact designed to make people see pollution strictly as a litterbug problem so that unrestrainted capitalism's effect on teh environment would end up downplayed. Likewise, well, we managed to make racism socially unacceptable ... to the extent that people become offended or even litigious if called racist. But white supremacy is still as much of a threat as ...say... climate change.
Fantastic singing! Thank you for posting it.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. It means a lot and makes a difference. <3
I want to be with y'all so bad (badly?). I'm out here in the Arizona desert because it's the only place I know where I can live for only $300/month and only have to go into town once every three weeks. Let me know if there is any way I can help. I have computer skills (12 years as a network manager), writing skills, experience digging through regulations, and all the time in the world to do research. Even though I can't be there, physically, I am with you in my heart. I honestly believe there UU way is the only way we are gonna survive, long term. As a community of people, helping each other.
I'm glad you have these on UA-cam. I'm trying to convince my church to use UA-cam because of the coronavirus.... hoping you are using measures to protect people from coronavirus.
Thank you, Meg. Although I am not in Austin now, I still consider First UU of Austin my home. Hearing you speak always makes my heart swell with joy, just knowing you folks exist. Y'all are always my reminder to not give up on the world. With that said, please do not choose to use Facebook as the means by which the community stays connected. The thought of Mark Zuckerberg making even more profit and gaining even more control over society because of this virus just breaks my heart. There is old fashioned "bulletin board" software that can be installed on your existing web site. Just search for "Free BBS" in your favorite search engine.
Thank you. Difficult decision, but the right way to handle this difficult situation. Thank you for the thoughtful, thorough communication.
I sure hope a lot of us see this. Great and loving message in this very difficult time. Thank you.
Thank you, Rev Meg! Perfect response and solution.
Thank you! I worry about balancing shut-in/depressive tendencies with the fact that I am, in fact, immuno-compromised.
Thank you, Rev. Meg, from Quimper UU Fellowship in Port Townsend, WA. These are strange and confusing times.

I miss you, Meg. Say, "Hi," to everyone for me. P. S. I wish your sermons were online. Many weeks, they were the only thing holding me together. P. P. S. Nevermind. I found the podcast! Yay! I've got a couple years worth of catching up to do.
We all were meant to be conservationists and respect the Earth. That is in every religious Doctrine and many peoples and tribes around the world knew this. I don't understand why we have gotten so away from it. We had really hurt ourselves
Good job, Gene!
Bravo and amen!
Great video, great work Rev Meg and the video producers.
Very interesting and inspiring. Thanks for the talk, and for posting this.
44:22 No one does it alone, I don't care if its a business or a marriage, you don't do it alone
God bless you sir You have done a great thing I am more inspired
Please help save all the virgin land in Contra Costa County, California (especially the Richmond Hills, near El Sobrante) before it is ruined forever with housing, traffic, noise, fast food trash everywhere. There is currently some horses, peace and quiet. Houses are going up every day above De Anza High School near Valley View and May Road. FAST, Get her today and help save this pristine land before it is ruined forever!!! Prefabricated, high quality 'tiny homes' could be put on top of every suburban, and city house/apartment with cranes. This could allow every family to expand their home for free child care or elder care (by relatives). Or they could rent out the 'tiny home' to a local teacher or first responder, etc., who would other wise have to commute many hundreds of hours to get to work. November 4, 2018
Truth, Beauty, Justice Braid these together to build holy loveliness!
